ABSTRACT: This study investigates the role of early childhood education in promoting cross-cultural friendships among young children. Objectives include evaluating the formation of cross-cultural friendships, identifying effective educational practices, and assessing the long-term benefits of early cross-cultural education. A survey design was employed due to its ability to collect detailed data from a diverse population. Purposive sampling was used to select 180 children from preschools in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Findings showed that children exposed to cross-cultural education demonstrated a greater tendency to form friendships with peers from different cultural backgrounds. Activities such as cultural exchange programs, inclusive group activities, and discussions on friendship and diversity were particularly effective. The study recommended integrating cross-cultural education into early childhood programs to promote cross-cultural friendships from an early age.
